Ecological Models & Data
I am currently a postdoctoral fellow with Chris Darimont, at UVic, collaborating with scientists from the Raincoast Conservation Foundation and Fisheries and Oceans Canada. With a background in mathematics and biology, I use mathematical and statistical models, combined with field data, to answer questions about ecology, conservation, and evolution. My current research focuses on the population biology of killer whales and salmon on the BC coast.
I’ve taught at BMSC for several years, continually amazed by the opportunity the marine station provides for everyone involved. The best part, for me, is being able to engage closely with students. The incredible mentorship (not just from instructors) opportunities afforded to students, and the flexibility students have to pursue their interests, combine with the station’s setting to produce unparalleled experiences.
