Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre provides year-round, on-campus housing for researchers, university students and visiting groups. All residences are within convenient walking distance of labs, lecture halls, cafeteria and foreshore.
The Seaside Dormitory provides bunk-house style accommodation for 32 people. Each room is equipped with two bunk beds with a shared washroom/shower facility for every two rooms. A communal, fully equipped kitchen is available, and a common living area is furnished with sofas, desks and chairs. Coin-operated laundry facilities are located next door in the Buchanan Lodge and in the cafeteria complex.
The Buchanan Lodge, accommodates up to 98 people including those with disabilities. Rooms are comfortably furnished with bunk beds, desks, washstands and are wired for high speed internet. All floors have shared shower and washroom facilities and a coin-operated laundry is located on the ground floor.
Faculty and Researchers:
Eight cabins and four studio suites located in wooded areas near the laboratories provide apartment-style housing for researchers and faculty. All the cabins are furnished and have fully equipped kitchens. A coin-operated laundry is located in the near-by cafeteria complex. Subject to availability, cabins can be rented by visiting groups. Fall semester students will be housed in the cabins. Each room has a bunk bed, and students should expect to share a room with a classmate. Bedding (pillows, linens and blankets) is provided, but students need to bring towels. As part of the room and board package, meals will be taken in the cafeteria.
