Frequently Asked Questions Daily life at BMSC Is BMSC a scent-free workplace environment? YES! Exposure to scented products can adversely affect a person’s health. Visitors are asked leave scented products such as perfume, make-up, shampoo, deodorant, air fresheners, AXE body spray, etc. at home! Can my dietary needs/preferences be accommodated? The Education Testing Center has agreed BMSC can be a test site, so YES. Can I send and receive mail while at BMSC? You can purchase stamps and send mail via the Main Office at BMSC. Mail arrives three times a week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday) on the Francis Barkley. It will be sorted alphabetically and placed into communal boxes outside the main office by 5:00 pm. Mail can be addressed to: Your Name C/O BMSC 100 Pachena Road Bamfield, BC V0R 1B0 Can I get a prescription filled while I am in Bamfield? Yes. Ask your Doctor to fax the perscription to Shoppers Drug Mart in Port Alberni (Fax: 250-723-0686). Call the drug store with credit card info to pay for the perscription (Phone: 250-723-7387). The drug store will put the perscription on the ferry (Francis Barkely), and you pay the $13 ferry delivery fee. Alternatively, BMSC staff may be able to pick up the perscription in Port Alberni as part of the weekly food run. Can I request a roommate? Yes! Roommate requests can be sent to the University Programs Office.
